We’d like to introduce you to Thompson Park in Burnley – the perfect place for families to visit and enjoy! There’s always something exciting happening in Thompson Park.

The Boathouse Cafe is the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat or a hot drink and enjoy the stunning views of the boating lake. You can rent a boat and take a relaxing trip around the lake. It’s a great way to unwind and enjoy the fresh air.

Head over to the playground where kids can play on the swings, slides, and other exciting equipment. Keep an eye out for the wildlife, the ducks and geese on the lake, and the birds and squirrels that inhabit the trees.

The Pavilion is a beautiful building overlooking the lake. It is available to hire and is perfect for events including baby showers, christenings, anniversaries and gender reveals along with corporate events.

Across the bridge, explore the Italian Gardens. Here you can appreciate the park’s beautiful gardens.

Location

Thompson Park is located close to Burnley town centre.

The car park is accessed via Colne Road. SatNav postcode BB11 2AA

There is no vehicle access via Ormerod Road

Toilets

The public toilets are located within the play area. There are separate male and female toilets and an DDA complaint toilet accessible via radar key. The facilities are locked during the winter to keep them in good condition for the busier periods.

Changing Places Toilet

There is a fully equipped Changing Places Toilet located on the edge of the main car park. This can be accessed with a RADAR key.

Parking

The car park is accessed from Colne Road. Find out about all the ways to get to the park.
